I. Love. Boston.
When visiting Boston, there are several must-see attractions and activities that I think you should consider including in your itinerary. Here are just some of my top things to do when in Boston:
- Freedom Trail: Follow the 2.5-mile-long red-brick trail that takes you to 16 historically significant sites, including the Massachusetts State House, Paul Revere’s House, and the Old North Church.
- Fenway Park: Catch a baseball game or take a tour of the oldest Major League Baseball stadium in the United States, home to the beloved Boston Red Sox.
- Boston Common and Public Garden: Explore the oldest public park in the United States, Boston Common, and visit the adjacent Public Garden, known for its picturesque swan boats and beautiful flowers.
- The NorthEnd: Discover great restaurants, bakeries and shops in Boston’s Italian district. Table Boston is one of the neighborhood’s hotspots located on Hanover St. and run by owner/chef Jen Royle.
- Harvard University: Ok, so they wouldn’t let me in as a college kid, but I still can check it out. Take a stroll through the prestigious Harvard University campus in nearby Cambridge, known for its rich history, beautiful architecture, and Harvard Yard.
- New England Aquarium and IMAX Theatre: Get up close to marine life at the New England Aquarium, which features a Giant Ocean Tank, penguin exhibits, and interactive displays.
- Boston Harbor: Enjoy a scenic harbor cruise or take a ferry to the nearby Boston Harbor Islands, which offer hiking, picnicking, and stunning views of the city skyline.
- USS Constitution Museum: Learn about the history of “Old Ironsides,” the oldest commissioned warship afloat, and explore the interactive exhibits at the USS Constitution Museum.
- The Duck Tours: Take a guided tour of the city like you never have before. This tour of Boston is through the streets of Beantown, but then takes a turn when it heads into the Charles River. Yes, the Duck Boat is an amphibious vehicle that will provide you with views like you’ve never imagined.
- Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum: Step back in time and relive the famous Boston Tea Party at this interactive museum, where you can participate in a reenactment and learn about the events that led to the American Revolution.
These are just a few highlights of what Boston has to offer. The city also boasts a variety of excellent dining options, vibrant neighborhoods like the North End and Back Bay, and a thriving arts and cultural scene.
